Last updated: 7 Oct 2026 · Calculation based on publicly known formulas. This is an estimate — actual values may vary.

How we calculated it

Two simple formulas, no black box:

  • Current attendance — (Attended ÷ Total) × 100. Example: 70 out of 100 = 70%.
  • Classes needed (below target) — (Target × Total − 100 × Attended) ÷ (100 − Target), rounded up. Example: target 75%, total 100, attended 70 → (7500 − 7000) ÷ 25 = 20 classes in a row.
  • Skippable classes (above target) — (100 × Attended − Target × Total) ÷ Target, rounded down. This is your safe bunk buffer.

Assumption: from here you either attend every class (to climb) or the buffer counts consecutive skips. Real colleges may count attendance differently — check your institution's rule.

Frequently asked questions

How is attendance percentage calculated?
Divide classes attended by total classes and multiply by 100. Attended 70 out of 100 classes = 70%. Enter both numbers above and the tool does it instantly.
How many classes do I need to attend to reach 75%?
Use the formula (75 × total − 100 × attended) ÷ 25, rounded up. For 70/100, that's 20 more classes in a row. The calculator above gives your exact number for any target.
What if my attendance is already above the target?
Then you have a buffer — the tool tells you how many classes you can safely skip and still stay above target. For example at 80% with a 75% target and 100 classes, you can skip 6 classes.
Does this work for the 75% college criteria?
Yes — 75% is the most common minimum in Indian colleges, but you can set any target (60%, 80%, etc.). Note some colleges count attendance per subject; this tool uses your overall numbers.
What if my target is 100%?
Then there is no buffer at all — you must attend every single remaining class. The tool will tell you exactly that.
